Begun in 2009 by Queralt Prats through Associació ARTransforma and RessonS Music School, Música a l’abast is an artistic and social project inspired by the British Community Music scene. The main pillars of the project are: access, participation, creativity and equal opportunities to art and music. There are a number of videos on our youtube channel, here are some examples:
Don’t miss this 2-minute MUSICA A L’ABAST clip:
The main feature of Música a l’abast are the regular music and creativity workshops for children, young people and/or adults with functional diversity.
Musica a l’abast offers training for primary and secondary schools, universities, music schools, etc, both for teachers and students.
Mixed sessions and sessions for families like the Drum Circle (Ertap) at Nexe Nursery School.
The different Música a l’abast groups show parts of their creative process to their families and friends. These performances are often open to the public.
The photography exhibition ELS SONS VISIBLES (VISIBLE SOUNDS) – photographs by Ariadna Trias and texts by Màrius Serra- has been touring around Catalonia for a number of years.
We have participated at school festivals, Parent Association events, Cultural Weeks and other events.
The real disability is the lack of opportunities, and not the individual condition of a person, when it comes participation in art and music.
